Laura Zylman, B.B.A., L.M.T.
Laura was born and raised in the Chicagoland area. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Management in 2010 and spent many years in an administrative role in the health care arena. In 2016, she decided she wanted to take a more hands-on approach and decided to pursue her license in Clinical Massage Therapy. She graduated January, 2017 from The Soma Institute in Chicago and was Valedictorian of her class. In February, she joined the team at Equilibrium. Laura understands the importance of taking care of our bodies and living a healthy life. She does an excellent job at finding aches and pains and using clinical massage to help restore healing to an area of complaint.
Edwin Rafael Merida, L.M.T.
Edwin, who also goes by Rafa, is a licensed Massage Therapist native to Chicago and is licensed since 2018. He is been trained in several modalities of massage and plan to learn more in order to better treat his patients. He has a clinical approach to Massage therapy because of his background with physical fitness and athletics.
In addition to being a Massage Therapist, Edwin is also a certified personal trainer/group fitness instructor with specializations in corrective exercise and weight loss. He is also a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant.
Currently, he is in school studying Kinesiology at UIC so he can better understand the human body and its functions.
Chandra Jones, L.M.T.
Meet Chandra Jones, a seasoned massage therapist with over 20 years of experience in Chicago. Graduating from Cortiva Institute, Chandra specializes in therapeutic massage, combining skill with a warm, friendly approach.
Born and raised in Chicago, she has worked across the city, from the vibrant Gold Coast to the bustling West Loop and South Loop areas. Chandra's expertise extends to working with athletes and clients recovering from personal injuries, offering tailored treatments to promote healing and relaxation.
Akilah Anderson, B.S.E., L.M.T.
Akilah is holistic wellness massage therapist, native to Chicagoland. With a Bachelor's degree in Health, Human Performance, and Recreation (University of Wisconsin Whitewater and Massage Therapy Training (Pacific College of Health and Science), she's spent the last 15 years exploring and sharing global health and wellness practices and theories. She uses a unique blend of Therapeutic Massage and Asian Body Work (Tui Na) with yoga, meditation, breathwork, and fitness to help you unwind, realign, and rediscover your best self—mind, body, and soul.
Treatment plans are designed to address root causes for long-term relief from chronic pain, repetitive movements, stress, and past injuries.
She believes knowledge is power and aims to educate others on viewing health holistically and embracing self-care as a lifestyle. You'll find compassionate support and unwavering encouragement on your healing journey.
